HTNK is looking for a Sales / Business Development Manager

MYCOTEX is a fast-growing international startup that is developing a ground breaking automated seamless manufacturing method allowing for custom-made products made from home compostable biomaterials (starting with mycelium). We are transforming the fashion, textile and interior industry by offering a holistic high-tech and sustainable solution for the entire supply chain.

We have an international, inclusive and dedicated team. CEO and CTO are both the founders of the company. We have a mix of experts who work multi-disciplinary: a microbiologist, chemist, application specialist and 3D developer.

MYCOTEX has developed an unique material and production process and have created the first groundbreaking products for luxury brands. As we enter the next stage of growth, we are engaging with exciting brands to explore the unique possibilities in design and sustainable production that our method offers to them.

To help us achieve our commercial objectives, we are looking for a:

Sales / Business Development Manager who wants to redefine the boundaries of sustainable fashion and interior. Your main focus will be on sales and converting partnerships to sales , but more importantly, you'll be at the forefront of shaping our business strategy, exploring new markets, and transforming the fashion, textile and interior industry.

Job responsibilities

  • Pioneering sales approach: Develop and implement a pioneering sales strategy that goes beyond traditional methods, applying out-of-the-box thinking,
  • Innovative partnership building: Identify and forge partnerships with brands that align with our vision for innovative and sustainable products, Target clients across various industries: fashion, lifestyle, tech, furniture, interior, product design.
  • Exploration of new markets: Actively seek out and explore untapped markets, pushing the boundaries of our reach.
  • Strategic negotiations: Lead negotiations and contracts with customers and partners, closing deals/contracts with clients and partners based on clear revenue targets,
  • Strategic growth: Innovate and optimize our customer and growth strategy for maximum impact.
  • As a fast moving start-up team, we are looking for colleagues who have the adaptability to take on other tasks that can come up and have a can do mentality

Job requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience within direct sales/partnership roles within creative industries
  • Sales pioneer mindset: A visionary with a go-getter attitude, always looking for new leads, cold calling and embracing out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Innovative sales track record: Demonstrable success in implementing innovative sales strategies and driving results.
  • Network builder: You can establish new partnerships. Ideally, you have a large network of contacts in the fashion and/or interior industry.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in the volatile daily practice of a fast-growing startup with a willingness to take on tasks beyond the conventional.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking: Apply strategic and analytical thinking to shape the future of our sales initiatives.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: Challenge the status quo and bring an entrepreneurial spirit to the team.
  • Clear communication: Articulate your innovative ideas clearly in spoken and written English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, management or similar
  • Ability to travel abroad for fairs, events and clients
  • Ability to work in Amersfoort, the Netherlands (and in possession of a work permit if applicable)
