FERRY SCHIFFELERS WINS LICHTING 2018On Friday the 7th of September, the 25-year old Ferry Schiffelers of AMFI [Amsterdam Fashion Institute] won Lichting 2018, the award for upcoming fashion design talent. In a spectacular runway show, in the middle of Museum square in Amsterdam, 14 fashion graduates presented their graduation collections to Dutch and international fashion professionals.
An international panel elected Ferry Schiffelers as the most promising talent of The Netherlands. He won the Lichting 2018 Award to the valuation of €10.000,-, made available by the Meester Koetsier Foundation. Lichting 2018 was made possible by the Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam.
CollectionWith his Défilé De Deuil collection Ferry combines his fascination for rituals around funerals and his love for the feminine beauty. By connecting this vision to Victorian mourning portraits, where widows were portrayed in extremely detailed mourning dresses, he created a modern group portrait where different generations of women display the power of femininity.
